As a person who is disabled and also live with another person who is disabled, I understand the need for not only basic information but also for communication with others. It's very easy to become shut off from the outside world whether you are disabled yourself or looking after a person with a disability.
Sometimes it's not easy finding information that you need to know. I am hoping that by creating this website, you will be able to access a variety of information that you may need at any given time.
I also want to create a forum so that any one person can ask a question and someone out there may well be able to provide an answer from their own experience.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Anne Purser Has worked with Aquired Brain injury and Multiple Disabilties and learning difficulty For Twelve years. During the first five years she also worked with Work and Training advice and arranging courses for young and older people returning to work after illness or long term unemployment. This included a large number of disabled people returning to work and youngsters looking at gaining their first job with a view to a career.
She has experience in giving career and guidance at all ages. She is also an assessor in care for NVQ's and had a large case load of Care students working both in the community and in registered homes.
Anne is herself disabled now , and her friend who decided to come to France with her is also disabled which gives her a very good insight into the problems disabled people can face.
She is currently living in France and is hoping to set up a holiday home which hopefully will cater for every disability for anyone needing a holiday whether living in a family or in registered care.
People are people and who is to say who has a disability or not? It is not always the physical appearance that shows a disability. Everyone in the world has a right to choose their life and lifestyle and not have one imposed upon them.
